Talent USA - One Intensive Program

This one day event was a series of practical industry and career development sessions run exclusively for the Talent USA group, supported by Screen Australia. The day was a collaborative session run by the Australian International Screen Forum in association with Independent Filmmaker Project.

DAY TWO - TUESDAY MARCH 20, 2018

1:30pm - 2:50pm:  Meet the Industry Leaders: TV Comedy in Focus, including a preview screening of RONNY CHIENG: INTERNATIONAL STUDENT 1 x 29 minutes, written by Ronny Chieng and Declan Fay, produced by Donna Andrews. Discussion with Donna Andrews, moderated by moderated by Evan Shapiro of EShapTV.

3:00pm - 4:00pm:  Virtual Reality storytellers discuss immersive technology as an opportunity for creators to tell their stories across new interactive platforms, with Vassiliki Khonsari (iNK Stories), Duncan Ransom, Founder and CEO of The Endless Collective, and Marli Scharlin, Creative Director at Eko. Moderated by John MacFarlane of POV Digital.

4:15 pm - 5:30 pm: ​ Closing Session. Women in Screen Discussion. The panel discussion will focus on the gender inequality in the entertainment industry and talk about the current state of things right now and what emerging practitioners need to do to help make a safer and more inclusive industry going forward. Topics covered include Time’s up and #metoo movement. Panelists include Gillian Armstrong, Anna Dokoza, Producer, FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS, LADY DYNAMITE, Jenny Halper, Director of Production and Development at Maven Pictures, and Simone Pero, President of New York Women in Film & Television and Producer of THE TALE.
