The Australian International Screen Forum returns this September with three special evenings celebrating Australian storytelling on screen. Across three nights, the program brings together an Australian classic, acclaimed new work and one of the year’s most anticipated Australian films, with special guests and conversations accompanying select screenings.

 

CROCODILE DUNDEE — 40TH ANNIVERSARY

September 8, 2026**

Celebrate the 40th anniversary of one of Australia’s most iconic films with a special screening of *Crocodile Dundee*. Revisit the film that introduced Australian humor, character and landscapes to audiences around the world and became an international cultural phenomenon. Presented in partnership with the American Australian Association.

HOW TO MAKE GRAVY — U.S. PREMIERE

September 10, 2026

Experience the U.S. premiere of *How to Make Gravy*, the acclaimed Australian adaptation inspired by Paul Kelly’s beloved song. The screening will be followed by a special conversation with members of the filmmaking team.

WRITER–DIRECTOR VIRTUAL WORKSHOPS

Late August – Late October 2026 | Online

The Australian International Screen Forum’s Writer–Director Virtual Workshop Program brings emerging and established Australian filmmakers into conversation with leading writers, directors and industry practitioners.

Running from late August through October, the online program offers participants an opportunity to hear directly from filmmakers about their creative process, developing and directing work, building a career, and navigating the international screen industry.

2026 PARTICIPATING FILMMAKERS TO BE ANNOUNCED

WRITER/DIRECTOR WORKSHOPS

Held in conjunction with the public events, the industry program is for rising screen creatives, with support from Screen Australia. A select group of Australian screen creatives participate in exclusive and bespoke professional development and networking sessions, meeting with key New York-based screen decision-makers. The programs's purpose is to help establish and foster creative and business relationships for their careers, and for Australian screen projects.
