WOMEN IN SCREEN WORKSHOP

Ambassador Deborra - Lee Furness Announces the Third Women in Screen Filmmakers at the Australian Consulate New York .

                   

The Australian International Screen Forum’s third annual Women in Screen Workshop, a 6 week industry focused Lab will bring together industry film and television female professionals from Australia and the US to advise the next class of emerging filmmakers. 

8 filmmakers have been selected to participate via seminars, panels and “work in progress workshops” including topics on Film Finance and Business Affairs, Marketing and Distribution, PR strategies, Manager Representation, Developing Original IP, Branded Content and Commercial Storytelling, independent Producing and Pitching to create an entrepreneurial approach to their careers. 

 

The filmmakers were announced at an VIP Industry event with ambassador Deborra- Lee Furness announcing the filmmakers at the Australian Consulate on Wednesday 20th October. 

 

The 6 Australian filmmakers selected for the 2021 workshops are Monique de Groot, Rebecca Ingram, Candy Bowers, Leah Patterson, Sunday Emerson Gullifer, Marisa Nathar with 2 international filmmakers Jingjing Tian and Lindsey Ryan. 


 

The 2021 Industry Mentors include:

Brigitte Wise, Producer and Business Affairs Executive

Jennifer Konawal, Producer / Manager, Ulladulla Films  

Laura Luckenbaugh, Director, International Programming and Development, AMC Networks

Georgia Hammond, Executive Producer, Casual Films 

Olivia Mayberry, Director of Branded Content and Special Projects, Atlantic Pictures

Monique Keller, Development Executive, FremantleMedia Australia 

Paula Ngon, Senior Publicist, People, Entertainment Weekly & Chair of Blackprint Meredith 

 

LA based, Roadmap Writers have partnered on the initiative with a Pitching workshop to appeal to international markets. Filmmakers will join the Forum Alumni Network; that continues to connect, network, educate and provide resources to filmmakers within the Australian International Screen Foundation.

Dates for the Workshops are:

October 27th

November 3rd, 10th, 16th, 17th

AND

December 1st, 2nd, 8th 2021

**The Australian International Screen Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and does not take ownership of filmmaker projects. Projects within the lab are workshopped and owned entirely by the sole filmmaker.
